Festive events on the occasion of the upcoming Day of Courage and a holiday of the Bulgarian Army will be held in various garrisons of the country

Military personnel from various garrisons of the country will hold festive events on April 25, 26, 29, 30 and May 2 on the occasion of the upcoming May 6 – Day of Courage and a holiday of the Bulgarian Army. Residents and guests of the settlements will be able to familiarize themselves with the equipment and weapons of the Bulgarian Army, learn more about the profession of “military serviceman”, and enjoy the performances of military brass bands.

The beginning of the events in the country is tomorrow, April 25, in the Karlovo garrison on “20 July” square, from 4:00 p.m., where the 61st Stryam Brigade is organizing a static display of small arms and equipment, a demonstration of elements of military training and of high sports craftsmanship. A military brass band with conductor Captain Yordan Iliev will greet citizens and guests with a festive concert.

On April 26 in Stara Zagora in front of the municipality building from 6:30 p.m., a festive concert of the Military Brass Band of the 2nd Mechanized Brigade will be held, together with the Military Brass Band of the Vasil Levski National Military University.

On April 29, in Kazanlak, at “Sevtopolis” Square, from 4:00 p.m., servicemen from the 61st Stryam Brigade will hold a static display of small arms and equipment, a demonstration of elements of military training and high sportsmanship. A military brass band will greet citizens and guests.

On April 30 in Pleven, the servicemen of the 5th Brigade Command, on the occasion of the Day of Courage and a holiday of the Bulgarian Army, will participate in a series of events from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in front of the central entrance of the Military Club. The servicemen will display modern weapons and equipment in service in the Ground Forces and a display of basic grips for conducting specialized hand-to-hand combat. On the occasion of the holiday of the Bulgarian Army, awards will be presented to military personnel with prize rankings in sports competitions. The photographic exhibition “Ground Forces Past and Present” will be presented, as well as a screening of the film “138 years of Ground Forces – on the path of tradition”.

The musical program will feature a festival brass band of the Bulgarian Army, as well as sports and folk dance schools and ensembles from the Military Club – Pleven and improvised ensembles from kindergartens and schools in the city.

On April 30, in the city of Chirpan, from 09:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., sports games under the title “Young Warrior 2024” will be held in “Dr. Tenyo Stoilov” park with students from the Municipality of Chirpan. There will be a field demonstration of army bean soup cooking by cooks from the 1st Reconnaissance Battalion and students from the restaurant class of the city’s Vocational High School of Agriculture. A charity bazaar will be held with souvenirs made by students from the “Peyo Radev Garvalov” Personal Development Support Center and servicemen from the 1st Reconnaissance Battalion. The collected funds will be donated to the Family-type Accommodation Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities in Chirpan.

On May 2, in Shumen, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in the square in front of the municipality, military personnel from the military formation 54,060 will participate in an exhibition “Modern weapons and equipment of military personnel from the Ground Forces”. The presented armament is 7.62 mm AK-47-P with IKZ, 7.62 mm AKS-47-P with IKZ, 9×19 mm OP Sig Sauer 2022 with IKZ and individual equipment – tactical equipment and means for individual and ballistic protection. The exhibition is accompanied by a photo exhibition and display of weapons from the Liberation to the present day (together with the “Tradition” club).

In Smolyan, on May 2, at 10:00 a.m. in the new city center, military personnel from the 101st Alpine Regiment will display weapons, equipment and alpine property. Among the attractions for students, pupils and citizens will be the establishment of the so-called alpine trolley. Traditionally, on May 6, Smolyan military personnel will lower the national flag measuring 20/10 m from Orlova Skala in the “Usoykata” area in the Rhodopes, for which they will use special alpine methods.

In Blagoevgrad, also on May 2, from 5:30 p.m. on the square in front of the Regional History Museum, a parade of military uniforms, weapons, replicas of battle flags and a retrospective of the victories of the glorious Bulgarian army will be held under the title “For honor and glory”. Co-organizers of the event are the Third Brigade Command, Blagoevgrad Municipality, Blagoevgrad Regional Historical Museum, Regional Association “Tradition” and Association “14th Infantry Regiment”.

In Asenovgrad, on May 2, at 4:00 p.m., on the “Akademik Nikolay Khaitov” square, the servicemen of the 4th Artillery Regiment will make a demonstration of weapons (light small arms) and equipment accepted for service in military formation 24 490. From 5:00 p.m. the concert of the Representative Wind Orchestra of the Air Force under the title “Following the Immortal Song”.
