What are the possibilities for future professional development in the field of chemistry, students from Blagoevgrad had the opportunity to find out today. This happened on the Open Day of the Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics of the Neofit Rilski State University.
According to the students of the Seventh SU “Kuzman Shapkarev”, chemistry majors hold great opportunities for career guidance. Some of them have already made their choice, what to do in the future, others are still considering.
The chemistry and environmental protection teacher Iliyana Yaneva was categorical that it is extremely important for her graduates to attend such initiatives, because they get information from the source, feel the academic environment and atmosphere with their senses, and in time they need to orientate themselves in relation to their life choice.
Teachers from the higher school introduced the students to the peculiarities of chemistry majors.
A presentation on the importance of chemistry was presented by the deputy dean of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, head of the Chemistry Department, Prof. Dr. Radoslav Chairov.
According to Prof. Chairov, there has recently been an interest in the specialties from the Department of Chemistry, due to the training of teachers in the open STEM center, as well as in the specialty “Medical Chemistry”, where there is a good implementation.
STEM centers are extremely important for student learning so that teachers can teach with this methodology.
