The best astronomy students from all over the country will compete in Pleven at the National Olympiad

On April 26, 27 and 28, 2024, the city of Pleven is hosting the XXVII National Astronomy Olympiad. 96 students from VII to XII classes and 28 managers from all over the country will participate in the prestigious competition. They are winners in the two preliminary rounds – municipal and regional – of the initiative, which were held in schools and all regions of the country.

Competitors will compete on two consecutive days. On April 27 at 08:00 the first tour begins, in the afternoon a visit of the participants to historical and cultural sights in Pleven is organized. The second round is on April 28, the competition is hosted by MG “Geo Milev” – Pleven.

The official opening of the XXVII National Astronomy Olympiad is on April 26, Friday, at 6:30 p.m. in the Katya Popova Hall. The ceremony for awarding the participants and closing the Astronomy Olympiad is on April 28, Sunday, at 1:00 p.m. in the Assembly Hall of the Pleven Mathematical High School.

The students with the highest results will represent the country at international astronomy competitions and scientific forums at home and abroad.

Organizers of the event are: Ministry of Education and Science, Regional Department of Education – Pleven, MG “Geo Milev”, Municipality of Pleven, Union of Physicists in Bulgaria – Pleven branch.
