Students in Targovishte make and present an album to graduates of the Bulgarian school in Paris

Students in Targovishte make and present an album to graduates of the Bulgarian school “Ivan Vazov” in Paris. The album is the result of the collective creativity of graduates of the First Secondary School “St. “Seventh graders”, supported by teachers in individual subjects, said the art teacher Silvia Malinova for BTA.
The album is entitled “Vazov, Bulgaria and us”. The idea was Malinova’s, and the students, then sixth graders, welcomed it. The teacher’s original idea was to facilitate the perception of Vazov’s works due to the presence in them of words that have already gone out of use. Drawing, studying the works of the Patriarch of Bulgarian literature, and reading poems are woven into the patriotism lesson. In the activities, fine art is a unifying factor, says Silvia Malinova. According to her, through drawing, the students enter the image of the literary character, more easily understand the content, empathize with the described scenes and realize the author’s message despite the distance of time. In the initiative, the young people are also supported by the Bulgarian language and literature teacher Aneta Mileva.
The trade school is involved in various initiatives of the Bulgarian school in Paris. They participate in fine art, photography and literature competitions, the teacher recalled. They collaborate with the teacher in the French capital Yaneta Dimitrova and her son Dilyan Dimitrov, who is part of the team of the art salon “Seli”. They are both from Targovishtko, and the young man is a graduate of the First Secondary School “St. Sedmochislenitsi”. Dimitrova is the responsible editor of the newspaper “Vazovcheta” published at the school and head of the journalism and creative writing studio.
In 2024, BNU “Ivan Vazov” in Paris celebrated ten years since its establishment. On the occasion of the jubilee anniversary, Silvia Malinova decided to donate the album, made in Targovishte, to the Bulgarian school. Along with that, the students from Targovishte are preparing a video clip with a greeting to their friends from France. It will be part of a kind of virtual diary with congratulations from the closest friends of the Bulgarian school “Ivan Vazov”.
