“Road Infrastructure” Agency participates in the concept with a proposal for the major repair of 58 km of the I-8 Sofia – Plovdiv road, in the section between Novi Han and Kostenets (from km 89 to km 147). The indicative value of the project is BGN 110,753,442 with VAT. The first-class road is the main transport artery for the municipalities of Ihtiman, Kostenets and Dolna Banya. The successful implementation of the planned investments will contribute to the improvement of transport connectivity, access to medical services, development of tourism in the region and prevention and management of flood risk.
The events were attended by Julian Lekov – District Governor of the Sofia Region, Nikolina Chapanova – Director of the Directorate “Implementation of Projects under OP Regions in Growth 2014-2020 and the EU Territorial Cooperation Programs” in API, Ivan Dimitrov – Deputy District Governor, the mayors of Dolna Banya and Ikhtiman Vladimir Jambazov and Kaloyan Iliev, the deputy mayor of Kostenets Margarita Mincheva, municipal experts and citizens.
Until April 25, all interested parties have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the concept and send their comments or objections. Obtaining broad public support is one of the mandatory conditions for the concept to be approved for funding.
