A working meeting was held in the Regional Administration regarding the notification of mass dismissal of workers and employees from “ContourGlobal Operations Bulgaria” JSC.
The meeting, chaired by regional governor Iva Radeva, was attended by representatives of Galabovo and Radnevo municipalities, the Stara Zagora, Radnevo and Galabovo Labor Bureau Directorates, the National Institute of Labor and Welfare, the Labor Inspection Directorate and trade unions.
At the meeting, it became clear that 160 people will be fired. The director of the “Labor Bureau” – Stara Zagora, Lyuben Georgiev, shared that the agency made maximum efforts to limit unemployment in the area and did everything possible to offer an alternative to these people, directing them to the labor market. For this purpose, a list of companies offering more than 400 real jobs was prepared, which was handed to the released employees.
Information days are also organized to promote employment, two of which have already been held in the municipalities of Radnevo and Galabovo, and in Stara Zagora they are to be held on May 24 and 30. A consultation with companies and employers is also scheduled for May 8 at the Merian Palace Hotel at the Labor Exchange, organized by DBT Stara Zagora.
Preventive measures to limit unemployment in the district also include employment programs and projects, opportunities for retraining and increasing labor potential.
