Evacuation of the population and production of goods during a crisis were discussed in Varna

The production of goods, logistics, evacuation of citizens, planning of resources are important topics for which we must be prepared in case of a possible crisis. This was said by the mayor of Varna, Blagomir Kotsev, who opened the training session on defense and mobilization training.

Participation in disaster management and disaster relief, as well as the Civil Defense Resources Planning Ordinance, were discussed during the event.

For me, as mayor, it is extremely important that we maintain a good dialogue on the topics related to security. The Municipality of Varna is in good and fruitful cooperation with all institutions at the state and local level that concern security in our country, including the Ministry of Defense, stressed Mayor Kotsev.

Today’s assembly is a good occasion to check the way the administration works and to check whether we are ready to maintain the quality of activities under different conditions, both in peace and in times of unrest, said Mayor Kotsev.

Varna is 400 kilometers from the war in Ukraine, we must be ready to protect our population, said Georgi Ivanov, head of the “Defense – Mobilization Preparation” department in the municipality.

Regarding the state of the hiding places, he commented that the issue was raised at the state level.
