The Vidin Symphony will delight audiences in three cities with classical concerts, reported a “Focus” reporter. The musicians, together with the guest artists – Anelia Gospodinova – piano, Evgenia Ralcheva – soprano, and Boyko Tsvetanov – tenor, under the baton of maestro Petar Dimitrov, will perform three consecutive concerts in Vidin, Sofia and Stara Zagora. Tonight in the “Philharmonia” hall is the first concert in Vidin, the director of the symphonies, Miroslav Krastev, told journalists.

The program includes arias by Puccini, Verdi and Mascani, as well as Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 1. According to the conductor Petar Dimitrov, the musicians are facing a challenge because Rachmaninoff’s work is performed less often, but it is extremely beautiful music. He added that this concert was an extreme experience in many ways. Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 1 is rarely performed not only in Bulgaria, but also around the world, because it is quite a difficult task – both for pianists and for the orchestra. According to him, the reason is that it was a youthful work by Rachmaninov when he was 17 years old, but he reworked it 27 years later, when he had already written the Third Piano Concerto, one of his most popular works. The conductor is adamant that this is the most complex piano concerto. That is why it is an extreme workload, both for the pianist and for the orchestra.

Pianist Anelia Gospodinova thanked director Miroslav Krastev and conductor Petar Dimitrov for making this concert possible. “I would say that this concert, which is coming up in three consecutive days, is at a very high European level and is worthy of many other big stages,” Gospodinova also said. She invited and urged the audience to lend a hand to high art, get to know with the author Rachmaninoff, because this is poetry for the soul.

Two more talented performers appear on stage together with the musicians from the Vidin Symphony.

Opera singer Boyko Tsvetanov is a legend, one of the greatest Bulgarian tenors, said Maestro Dimitrov. “It is a real happiness that a performer of such rank participates in the concert, said the maestro and added that the soprano Evgenia Ralcheva is the shining present of Bulgarian music, and predicted that the opera singer has an even greater future.

Evgenia Ralcheva told journalists that the concert program is a challenge and is very interesting and exciting and added that she and Boyko Tsvetanov will sing one of the most beautiful duets in the opera, namely Othello and Desdemona.
