The movement of goods across borders of countries and continents is already on such a huge scale that cases like this are not an exception at all. Fruits and vegetables often travel with animals that were in them during the picking and packing of the goods.

Unfortunately, most animals die on the way if they are in a refrigerated truck or go without food for a long time. Others die having already arrived in a new place, quite unsuitable for their species.

This Mediterranean gecko (Hemidactylus turcicus) was found among the vegetables in a chain store. The species is not found in our country, but is widespread in neighboring Greece. How they noticed it at all is amazing, because this body is only 3 cm long, reports the “Wild Animals” organization.

I’m also speechless about his human’s good reflexes because how fast he is I can’t even describe Luckily they managed to catch him before he got trampled just at the cost of his tail which isn’t much of a problem for a lizard as it will grow in time .

Its transport in the opposite direction has already been arranged and it will soon be in its natural environment.
