Journalist Dimitar Stoyanov announced to his colleagues from the Fifth Police Station that he would come to give explanations after testifying at “Pirogov”. He was delayed for quite some time, and after the inquiry was made that such a person had not been examined until now, the colleagues headed to the emergency hospital to check on the spot if there was such a patient. After the intervention of the employees of the SDVR, the person was identified and given the opportunity to be examined by a doctor on duty in “Pirogov” and then detained. This was stated at a press briefing by the Director of the Metropolitan Directorate of the Police, Lyubomir Nikolov, regarding the case with the accusations of hooliganism and threats of murder against BIRD.BG journalist Dimitar Stoyanov.

According to Commissioner Nikolov, this is a routine case that is observed quite often and the procedure is always the same. According to the head of the SDVR, the delay of the journalist was more than 4 hours.

Lyubomir Nikolov pointed out that the conflict between Dimitar Stoyanov and the NRA employee arose in connection with a parking space on “Vasil Petleshkov” street. The report was filed at 6 p.m. on Monday at the Fifth Police Station. Urgent pre-trial proceedings have been instituted. In the course of it, it was established that Stoyanov threatened to kill 40-year-old P.L. by pointing a combat pistol at his head.

Two witnesses were questioned in the case. The director of the SDVR clarified that no reports of other cases of aggression have been filed against the 40-year-old NRA employee.

The journalist’s gun is legal, he has a permit for it. The weapon has been seized, the police added.
