Students, teachers and students participated in the sports festival, which took place in the Sports Complex of the Southwestern University “Neofit Rilski”. The event, organized by the third-year students, majoring in “Physical Education and Sports” at the Faculty of Pedagogy, was dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the arrival of the Swiss gymnastics teachers in Bulgaria.

The sports forum was opened by the deputy dean, Assoc. Dr. Daniela Tomova, who is also the head of the “Theory and Methodology of Physical Education” department. She greeted the participants and guests and told more about the Swiss teachers who played an important role in the introduction of gymnastics in Bulgarian schools.

Among the guests of the event were teachers, students and pupils from the Third Primary School “Dimitar Talev” – Blagoevgrad, whose head was Rumyana Stanoeva.

The celebration began with the obligatory warm-up for sports events, after which teachers, students and pupils competed in various competitions – basketball, football, volleyball, tennis, relay games and badminton. Many emotions among the participants were caused by the mobile games – jumping in sacks, carrying a “chair” and pulling a rope.

At the end of the sports games, Prof. Tomova handed the representatives of the Third Primary School “Dimitar Talev” a plaque with gratitude for the fruitful cooperation.
