Nearly 3,800 households are expected to replace their old heating appliances with ecological ones in Vidin

3,782 households are expected to replace their old heating appliances with new ecological ones in Vidin municipality, a reporter told “Focus”. This will become possible after the Municipality signs an administrative contract for the provision of a grant for the replacement of old heating devices with alternative ones, the City Hall specifies. The funds will be provided for the implementation of the Project “For cleaner air in the Municipality of Vidin” under procedure No. BG16FFPR002-5.001 “For cleaner air!”, under priority 5 “Air” of the “Environment” Program 2021-2027.

The policy for cleaner air of the Municipality of Vidin is long-term and aims to solve the problem of deteriorating atmospheric air quality by reducing the emissions of fine dust particles caused by domestic heating – one of the main sources of environmental pollution, adds the town hall. The project is a natural continuation of what was achieved by the implementation of the previous one, which was passed with extremely high interest on the part of the citizens.

It is expected that the submission of applications will begin in June 2024, for which the Municipality of Vidin will further inform the interested parties. The estimated number of households that will benefit from new ecological alternative heating devices is 3,782.

The value of the project is slightly over BGN 23.452 million. (100 percent of BFP), of which BGN 19.934 million from the European Fund for Regional Development and BGN 3.518 million. national co-financing from the state budget of the Republic of Bulgaria.
