With a big concert on Saturday, the Mandolin Orchestra “Maestro Georgi Atanasov” celebrates 45 years on stage : Vestnik Zname

Spectators will see performers from 6 to 92 years old, classical, folk, pop will sound

PAZARDJIK. The representative mandolin orchestra “Maestro Georgi Atanasov” will gather lovers of beautiful music on April 27 in the hall of the same name. The celebratory concert is dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the christening of the orchestra after the great Pazardzhik musician and composer maestro Georgi Atanasov. are the community center “Hristo Botev-1897”, the management of the orchestra and with the support of the Municipality of Pazardzhik.

Classical works by Bach, Vivaldi, Shostakovich, Monti, folklore, and pop music will be played in the hall. The people of the great Diko Iliev, who are loved by the Bulgarians, will also be present.

Performers aged 6 to 92 will take the stage. Among them are Desislava Cholakova, concertmaster of the symphony orchestra of the BNR, Yavor Zhelev – leader of the wind orchestra of the same formation,

Yavora Goranova – a student at the Music School in Sofia, the classical guitar master Teodor Nalbantov, Stoyan Stoyanov on the bouzouki and others. The violinists from the “Dominanta” instrumental group will also perform in the concert. 6-year-old Rangel Zhelev will play the flute, and his 8-year-old sister Nadezhda – the violin.

The hall will be filled with the sounds of mandolins, accordion, violins, guitars, flute, harp, drums. Pop music will be presented by Dimitar Frenski with the participation of the children’s choir at the Municipal Children’s Complex in the city.

– professional musicians, doctors, teachers, accountants, engineers and other professions – specified Atanas Cholakov, conductor of the mandolin orchestra for 15 years. – Among the longest-standing participants are Bogdana Penkova, Valya Gyurjeklieva, Dr. Angel Kenderov and others. The young generation is represented by Teodor Nalbantov, Stoyan Stoyanov and their colleagues.

– Mandolin music is traditional for Pazardjik. The first orchestras date from the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The one from Pazardzhik is from 1902. The instruments used are mandolins, piccolo mandolins, mandolis, guitars, accordion, double bass, violins, drums and effects instruments – castanets, tambourines and others.

It is curious that out of all 9 mandolin orchestras in Bulgaria, three are in Pazardzhik – added Atanas Cholakov.
