Student application for first grade for the 2024-2025 school year will be online only through centralized electronic ranking. On the official website of the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo, www.veliko-tarnovo.bg, in the section “Education, subsection “Admission to the first grade”, “Current for the schools”, the Ordinance for the admission of students to the first grade of the municipal schools on the territory of Veliko Tarnovo and The schedule of activities for admission to first grade. The opening of the electronic system and the starting date of application will be on May 17 from 10.00 am. Registration of an application for admission can be done online from the public admission site or on site at the school itself. The necessary documents: application for enrollment, certificate of changes of permanent address of the child, certificate of marital status of the parents will be obtained in full by business trip. Nine municipal schools in the old capital will receive 706 students in first grade. In order to make it as easy as possible for parents and to be able to more easily navigate which schools are closest to their place of residence, the electronic system has prepared a map by region, as well as the names of the educational institutions and contact telephone numbers. Each parent will be able to list up to nine schools in the order of their preference on the enrollment application. The Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo informs that the leading criterion for admission to the first grade is the proximity to the school of the child’s permanent current address in the catchment area. Children are ranked in descending order according to the number of points received. Each child can only be placed in one school.
For the academic year 2024-2025, 851 first-graders are expected to enter the schools of the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo, divided into 34 separate and 4 combined classes. The most requested classes are at SU “Em. Stanev” – 6, “Bacho Kiro” Primary School and “Patriarch Evtimii” Primary School – 5 each, “V. Blagoeva” – 4. Outside the regional center, the “Dr. P. Beron” Primary School – Debelets has announced two classes, and the schools in: Kilifarevo, Resen and Vodolei have 1 class each. The first-graders in the villages of Balvan, Ledenik, Samovodene and Tserova koria will be educated in combined undersized classes.
