The “Third Summer School on Stroke” will be held in the period June 15-16, 2024 in the First Auditorium at the Medical University “Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov” – Varna. The scientific meeting is a continuation of the traditional multidisciplinary meetings dedicated to cerebrovascular pathology and stroke and will be held under the auspices of the Medical University – Varna and UMBAL “St. Marina” – Varna.

Scientific papers and presentations will be distributed over two days. In the focus of the upcoming event this year are topics affecting the organization of stroke treatment, neuroimaging methods in the acute phase of brain strokes, risk factors for the occurrence of strokes and their prevention. Strokes in childhood, rare causes of stroke and possibilities for rehabilitation after stroke will also be discussed. In addition to the presentation of theoretical reports, interesting clinical cases from daily practice will be presented and commented on.

The annual organization of scientific events dedicated to stroke aims at long-term cooperation between all units involved in the organization and implementation of differentiated treatment. The goal is to improve the coordination of efforts to treat the disease in the country, achieve maximum effect and improve the care of people with stroke. Achieving optimal quality of treatment in the functioning centers is related to the continuous training of students, specialists and the continuing medical training of the specialists.

In 2018, the “First National Stroke Conference with International Participation” was held, and in 2019, the “First Summer School on Stroke”, and subsequently scientific forums devoted to cerebral stroke are held annually.​
