On security in Pomorie: The local government and the police with measures for the peace of citizens

The Municipality of Pomorie provides funding for seconded police officers during the upcoming summer season. This became clear at a specially organized meeting today, together with the director of the ODVRM – Burgas senior commissioner Emil Pavlov and the head of the RUP – Pomorie chief inspector Petar Todorov. Together with Mayor Ivan Alexiev, they identified measures to limit crimes related to: domestic violence; road transport accidents; the violation of public order; the distribution of drugs and the anti-social behavior of minors.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Municipal Council Adam Adamov, municipal councilors, the head of the Security Police Department Senior Inspector Simeon Simeonov, the mayors of the constituent settlements and all directors of schools and kindergartens on the territory of the municipality. The use of various types of drugs and aggressive anti-social behavior were outlined as problems among adolescents. The safety measures for proms in a month were also commented on.

Mayor Ivan Alexiev insisted on providing more pedestrian patrols and thanked for the frequent checks in the courtyards of educational institutions. “I believe that by improving the interaction between the local government and law enforcement agencies, we will be able to maintain the image of Pomorie and the region as a peaceful place to live, relax and rest. I am satisfied with the good communication between all of us and I hope that the result will be fewer road transport accidents with both material damage and people injured. We also aim to minimize domestic crime, prevent and limit the use of harmful substances among young people,” commented Mayor Alexiev.

Senior Commissioner Pavlov and Chief Inspector Todorov appealed to all those present to signal whenever they notice a violation or irregularity. “The most important thing is that we improve the interaction between the local government and the Police in order to ensure the peace of mind of the citizens,” shared the director of the ODMVR – Burgas.
