There are over 850 children who study using the Montessori method in Vratsa. “The program started in 2017 and the municipality of Vratsa already rivals the largest community in Plovdiv in terms of the number of teachers and students using the method“, announced Petya Dolapchieva – Deputy Mayor of Vratsa Municipality. Until the end of April, pedagogical and medical-pedagogical visits are held, visits to the first grades of six schools in Vratsa are organized. To date, six nurseries, six kindergartens are working according to the method. Over a hundred are medical specialists, pedagogues, primary teachers, principals who have been officially trained to work with the tested methodology.
Meanwhile, part of the post-graduate qualification training for teachers from kindergartens and schools in Vratsa was held over the weekend. Montessori pedagogy teacher is Simeon Chukanov – teacher at New Bulgarian University. “Trainings happen once or twice a month. In Vratsa, we have a group of 15-16 teachers and we work a total of 400 academic hours. Montessori pedagogy is also taught in Plovdiv, Razgrad, Karlovo, Hisar, Nova Zagora, Burgas and Varna“, said Simeon Chukanov for “Competitor”.
