Boxer Yosif Panov – Cinderella will be awarded the title “Honorary Citizen of Pleven Municipality”. The proposal submitted to the Municipal Council of Pleven by the chairman, Prof. Dr. Ivan Malkodanski, was voted unanimously by 34 votes “for”, not one “against” or “abstention”. It was considered in the Committee for Honorary Citizens.

In his proposal, Prof. Malkodanski points out that Panov is 26 years old, but already has 23 victories behind him. He is the champion of Bulgaria in 2018, international champion in 2021 and world champion in 2023.

He began his career in amateur boxing in 2008, where he was a gold medalist at the Republican Championship and a bronze medalist at the European Championship in Hungary. He represented Bulgaria at the World Boxing Championship in Kazakhstan in 2013, and the same year he won the prize for the best boxer of our country. He started his professional career in 2014. So far he has 28 matches with 25 wins and 3 losses.

In the period 2021 – 2023, Panov is the number one boxer in Bulgaria. In 2021, he won the “Most Beautiful Knockout” prize of the World Boxing Organization with his victory over the Frenchman Moussa Gary in Plovdiv.

Yosif Panov was born on April 14, 1996. He is a graduate of the “Georgi Benkovski” Sports School in Pleven. He is married with two children.

The honorary title will be awarded to the boxer during a solemn session of the Municipal Council, which is traditionally held on the Pleven holiday – May 15.
