Children to 14 years old will not be able to ride and use scooters, and those up to 18 years they must be wearing a helmet on the head.

Children aged 14 to 16 can operate vehicles only on bicycle infrastructure. This is proposed with changes in the municipal ordinance for the organization and safety of road traffic in Kyustendil. They to be voted on in the Municipal Council, transmits BNR.

Drivers of individual electric vehicles are obliged to comply with the Road Traffic Act. Persons who have reached the age of 16 can drive electronic vehicles on the bicycle infrastructure and on the roads and street network on which the maximum permitted speed is up to 50 km/h.
A maximum speed of 25 km/h is also introduced.

With the new changes in the regulation, requirements are also added to this type of vehicle. They must have working brakes, a mechanical or electronic bell, a device for emitting a white or yellow clearly visible light at the front, a device for emitting a red light at the rear.

With the additions to the document also regulate the fines for violators of the rules – BGN 10, if the individual electric vehicle does not have lighting or the driver under 18 does not wear a helmet.

BGN 50 will be the penalty if the brake system is not working or if the driver does not have reflective elements or drives irregularly. The introduction of the new rules and restrictions has been reachedand after reports of indiscriminate scooter riding on the pedestrian areas and alleys along the central boulevard “Bulgaria” and the city center by children and teenagers.
