Group for old city songs “Golden Autumn” celebrated its 30th anniversary with a big concert in DKT Silistra

“Dorostol” HC – city of Silistra has followed the tradition of organizing celebrations of its teams on the occasion of their anniversaries.

Next was the group for old city songs and hits “Golden Autumn”, which celebrated its 30th anniversary. At the core of her pro-choice are mostly teachers. The original composition consisted of nine singers, and the conductor was the singing teacher Petar Yovov, who led it until 2000. In 1999, the group already had a composition of 34 singers, regularly participating in various creative performances in the city, the region and the country.

On its 10th anniversary, “Golden Autumn” is a group of 18 singers, selected with very good voices by their then manager Yordanka Dimova, who led the group for several years. The cohesiveness of the composition leads to many participations in festivals and competitions, where many awards have been won by both the group and individual performers.

For years, the group has been at the heart of the Festival of the Old City Song “Danube Memories” in the city of Silistra, which is one of the first in the country – it started back in the 90s of the last century, and until it was stopped due to the covid period was among the staples in the program of the Feast of the City of Silistra – Crossroads Day.

Dimitar Jambazov and Ivan Radev recorded their periods in the history of our Golden Autumn Dobruja singers as their leaders. At the moment, the group is headed by Yordan Zdravkov Georgiev – he is also among its iconic soloists, under whose leadership the repertoire has not been updated, and the most emblematic songs that were played in previous years have been preserved.

The celebration for the anniversary of “Golden Autumn” was part of the “Bulgaria sings” holiday – an initiative of the Bulgarian Choral Union. It also included other ensembles from the “Dorostol” National Choir – “Sedyanka” Mixed Choir – Silistra and “Lidens” Ballet, also the “White, Green, Red” Vocal Group at the Silistra ODC and the special guest – the “Dobrich” Mixed Choir at the “Dobrich” National Choir. For the choirs and for all the participants – congratulatory addresses and flowers from the mayor of the Silistra municipality Alexander Sabanov, from the regional governor Mincho Yordanov, on behalf of the organizer of the holiday – “Dorostol” Primary School, as well as from friends of the “Golden Autumn” Group. The chairwoman of the oldest community center in Silistra, Margarita Lubomirova, honored with flowers Zlatina Staneva – director of DKT Silistra, who once again provided her salon and stage for a memorable community center celebration.
