“Thank you for the warm welcome!”. With these words, His Excellency Miguel Alonso Berio, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain in Bulgaria, met with the Mayor of Sliven Stefan Radev in the Municipality building. This is his first visit outside Sofia since his appointment as ambassador. Miguel Alonso Berio shared that he was in the City under the Blue Stones 30 years ago and expressed his impression of its development and the positive change in infrastructure. “It is a pleasure after 30 years to see how the bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Spain have become more intense.”

The two talked about the possibilities of cooperation in education, culture and economy. Stefan Radev introduced the guest to the project of the Municipality of Sliven for the Industrial Park and the investment opportunities in the region.

The reason for the visit of the Spanish ambassador to Sliven is the unveiling of the badge of honor for the affiliation of the PGPZE “Zachary Stoyanov” to the community of bilingual centers according to the agreement between Bulgaria and Spain. The opening ceremony was attended by Miguel Alonso Berio, Deputy Mayor Pepa Chilikova and Angel Santamaria Barnola, Counselor in the Education Department at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain in Bulgaria.
