The Municipality of Varna checked the readiness of the projects under an important procedure for over BGN 43 million.

The Deputy Mayor for Legal Affairs of the Municipality of Varna, Dian Ivanov, checked the readiness of the municipal administration for the project proposals under the Concept for Integrated Territorial Investments (KITI) procedure under the “Development of the Regions” program 2021-2027. At a working meeting, he ordered to work in as short as possible for the projects. It is necessary to have a well-developed design assignment and technical specification. The meeting was attended by representatives of five municipal directorates and the “Investment Policy” enterprise.

We remind you that the Municipality of Varna is a leading partner in the concept entitled “Varna – a city open to the sea, a cultural, touristic, educational and health center, with care for people and an engine of sustainable development of the North-East region”. The document includes 12 projects worth 43 BGN .8 million. Among them are the reconstruction of the Summer Theater and the repair of the garden on Tsar Simeon Street, where the late antique wall of old Odessos was discovered. Also included is a project to repair the square in front of the railway station and nine streets in the square between “Danube”, “Debar”, “Ohrid”, “Preslav” and “Devnia”. The municipalities of Aksakovo and Shabla are partners in some of the projects. Medical University – Varna, DCS, etc.

The concept has already passed the first stage – assessment of administrative compliance and admissibility under the procedure “Concepts for Integrated Territorial Investments” /KITI/ from the “Regional Development” Program 2021-2027. The document is yet to be examined by the Regional Development Council, which will prioritize the concepts approved at the first stage.
