Measures are being taken against violators who exceed their stay of 3 hours in a disabled parking space within the scope of the blue zone in Varna. This is what the director of the municipal enterprise “Parking and Blue Zone” Mladen Ivanov told BNR.

He pointed out that the issue is generally valid for the country, and here they will deal with internal organizational measures. Ivanov said it is difficult to prove and footage from cameras in the area cannot be used as evidence in court.

His comment comes in response to reports that cars with disability stickers have been sitting in disabled parking spaces for days.

Todor Savov, who lives at 31 Ruse Street in Varna, raised the alarm about the problem. According to his information, mainly workers who have stalls and shops leave their cars in the area of the Blue Market and the Stoyan Bachvarov Drama Theater.

Ivanov emphasized that 5% of the total number of parking spaces in the blue and green zones are designated for people with disabilities, which is more than stipulated in the regulations.

Disability stickers can only be used if the person with a disability is in the car, otherwise the free parking card can be taken away, Ivanov recalled.
