The Municipality of Stara Zagora and the Stara Zagora Regional History Museum are organizing the first festival of its kind, which will show the customs of our ancestors, as well as historical reconstructions of their way of life, clothing, weapons, etc.
On May 18 and 19, the spectacular reenactments will transport visitors to the Augusta Traiana Ancient Forum Complex to the eras of Antiquity and the Middle Ages.
Festival attractions include a fashion show of ancient and medieval clothing, mead tasting, medieval cuisine demonstrations, archery, gladiatorial combat, Roman medicine, ancient board games and inventions.
The first day of the festival will end with concerts by the musical groups “Xana” and “Flying Nomads”. A highlight of the program on the second day of the festival will be the talk “The armor of the warrior”, accompanied by demonstrations of ancient and medieval weapons.
Special participation in the program will be the “Tarnovtsi” SNC, the “Mos Maiorum Ulpiae Serdicae” Association, the “Chigot” Historical Reconstruction Association – Varna, Free Reenactors from Bulgaria, the “Xana” and “Flying Nomads” musical groups.
Entrance will be free.

May 18 (Saturday)
09:30 Parade of the participants from the square in front of Stara Zagora Municipality to the Augusta Traiana Ancient Forum
10:00 Official opening of the festival on the stage of the Ancient Forum
10:30-17:00 Demonstrations of crafts, life and traditions, coinage, pottery, bark weaving, archery, etc.
10:30 “Fashion through the ages” – a fashion review of ancient and medieval clothing
11:30 Religious dispute, Roman trial
12:00 Demonstrations of medieval cuisine
12:30 “Mead through the ages” – tasting lecture about honey drinks from Antiquity, the Middle Ages and nowadays
14:00 Ancient theater, ancient poetry recital, gladiatorial games, Roman medicine, ancient board games and inventions
16:00 Combat demonstrations
17:00 Concert of ancient and medieval music by the groups “Xana” and “Flying Nomads”
May 19 (Sunday)
