They arrested a 44-year-old man who processed and sold pneumatic weapons in Ruse. The special operation was carried out by GDBOP employees on the territory of Ruse and other places in the country.
In the course of the investigation, it was established that since January 2023, the man had been engaged in remaking pneumatic weapons, improving their accuracy and increasing their power and range. Through a courier company, he delivered the goods to users throughout the country, and concealed the profit through financial operations in the name of third parties.
Searches and seizures were carried out at two addresses and a car in Ruse, as well as at other addresses in the country. A total of nine air rifles, three mobile phones, invoices, certificates, etc. were found in the detainee’s workshop.
Weapon processing equipment was seized – a compressor and compressed air bottle, two speedometer-chronographs with silencers, about 2,000 specialized springs, a computer with software for adjusting the power of the weapons, a lathe and a stand with a drill, as well as BGN 33,000 and EUR 1,100 . Owners of modified pneumatic weapons were called as witnesses and questioned.
A pre-trial proceeding has been initiated in the case, the work on which continues under the supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Ruse.
