The festival revives the charm of the old Bulgarian town song – a real gem in our cultural heritage – and aims to seek out, promote and preserve the best of this genre.
THE EVENT HAS A COMPETITIVE NATURE
The jury evaluates the musical and artistic qualities of the songs, their performance and artistic presentation.
It is desirable that the participants include in their repertoire songs performed by Asparukh Leshnikov.
CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION :
1. Only non-professional groups, chamber ensembles (duet, trio, quartet, etc.) and individual performers can participate in the competition.
2. The groups should not exceed 16 people, including the escort.
3. Groups, chamber ensembles and individual performers to perform ONLY 2 songs, regardless of their type.
4. A bunch of songs is not allowed.
5. Performances and accompaniment to be live. If it is impossible to provide live accompaniment, the use of synback is allowed. Playback accompaniment not allowed.
6. It is a mandatory condition that the songs are performed in Bulgarian within the genre.
7. It is desirable that the clothes of the performers carry the atmosphere of the respective era.
8. The artistic merits of the performers will be judged, including performance in the style of the old town song, accompaniment, commitment, stage presence.
9. The best performers will be included in the Gala Concert.

3. AWARD FOR INDIVIDUAL PERFORMERS (MEN AND WOMEN):
First prize for female performers – BGN 220.
Second prize for female performers – BGN 180.
Third prize for female performers – BGN 150.
First prize for male performers – BGN 220.
Second prize for male performers – BGN 180.
Third prize for male performers – BGN 150.
4. PRIZE FOR THE BEST PERFORMANCE OF A SONG FROM THE REPERTORY OF ASPARUKH LESHNIKOV – BGN 150.
5. PRIZE FOR AN ORIGINAL SONG IN THE STYLE OF THE OLD TOWN SONG – BGN 150.
6. AWARD FOR THE BEST HIT PERFORMANCE OF THE 1960s – BGN 150.
7. AWARD FOR THE BEST ACCOMPANYMAN – BGN 150.
The prizes for the outstanding ensembles and individual performers will be presented at GALACONCERT.
