The municipal councilors from “BSP for Bulgaria” in the Metropolitan Municipal Council decided that Ivan Takov will remain the chairman of the group

The municipal councilors from “BSP for Bulgaria” in the Metropolitan Municipal Council (SOS) decided that Ivan Takov will remain the chairman of the group, announced the metropolitan organization of the BSP. Thus, the councilors rejected the recommendation of the BSP City Council that Takov be replaced by Diana Tonova.
“The group of the Local Coalition “BSP for Bulgaria” rejects the recommendation of the City Council of the BSP for a change of leadership and confirms its confidence in its chairman Ivan Takov and the current leadership,” the municipal councilors state.
They express their concern about the interference of the close leadership of the Socialists in the decisions of the group and state that this undermines the prestige not only of the municipal councilors from the local coalition, but also of the city organization and the party itself.
“The attempts of the BSP’s close leadership to make backroom agreements with representatives of other political groups behind the backs of the municipal councilors from the local coalition “BSP for Bulgaria” are absolutely unacceptable,” the municipal councilors added.
Diana Tonova and Ivan Videlov were not present at the meeting of the group in the Municipal Council this morning, the councilors clarified.
Earlier today, the press center of the BSP distributed a message that the newly elected City Council of the BSP – Sofia unanimously decided that the members of the Executive Bureau and the city president Diana Tonova will represent the BSP-Sofia in the bodies of the Local Coalition “BSP for Bulgaria”.
The city council has also decided to replace the chairman of the group of municipal councilors Ivan Takov with the newly elected chairman Diana Tonova.
