The forecaster of “Nova TV” Nikol Stankulova warned of bad weather today.
“Today, a cold atmospheric front will push the Saharan sand from the Balkans and bring a new batch of rain and cooling. It will be cloudy and gloomy almost all day. The day started with rain in the west, and by the evening the rain will reach the eastern regions of the country In the central and eastern parts, small hail is possible, so a yellow warning code is in effect in Southwestern and Central Bulgaria.
By evening, rainfall amounts may reach 30-40 liters per square meter.
Because of the cold northwest wind, the maximum temperatures will reach today from 12 to 21-22 degrees in the east.
The mountains will not be suitable for tourism. It will be cloudy, foggy and with significant precipitation throughout the day. With a moderate and strong north-westerly wind, cold air will invade here as well, and above 1800 meters the slopes will turn into snow. Temperatures on the peaks will reach around zero.
From Friday until the end of the week we will enjoy more sunshine. There will be clouds only near the mountains. Temperatures will also rise and on Sunday the maximum will reach 25 degrees.
In the first three days of the new week, however, the atmosphere over the country will be unstable again. There will be brief thunderstorms and hail is also possible,” she said.
