The Center for Social Rehabilitation and Integration for Persons with Mental Disorders and Intellectual Disabilities in Veliko Tarnovo is celebrating its 10th anniversary with an event in Druzhba Park. The celebration brought together dozens of users, friends, team colleagues, guests.
The more unusual way to celebrate the birthday was organized in partnership with the City Student Parliament and was under the title “We help people with disabilities”. A musical program and interesting games made the celebration interesting for everyone. A highlight of it was the lesson in folk dances in the open air, organized with the assistance of Folklorna zimnavnitsa.
In addition to social services in the municipality of Veliko Tarnovo, the Center for Social Rehabilitation and Integration for Persons with Mental Disorders and Intellectual Disabilities has successfully partnered with VTU and the branch of Varna Medical University in the old capital. It is a practice base for their students. Part of the team is currently made up of specialists who have performed well here during their training.
The capacity of the social service is 35 users. In it, individuals and their relatives receive support from social workers in their contacts with institutions when filling out and submitting documents, dealing with everyday cases and problems. Users benefit from therapy and rehabilitation. Through psychological therapy, they build confidence and self-esteem, and through interactive activities, users learn how to deal with personal and family crises. An important part of the Center’s activity is occupational therapy, providing users with an opportunity for self-expression through art and creativity. They acquire cooking and household skills in the Vkusno culinary club. Visitors to the Center for Social Rehabilitation and Integration for Persons with Mental Disorders and Intellectual Disabilities in Veliko Tarnovo also receive support for acquiring work skills, as well as knowledge for improving health culture. They also participate in various cultural events, excursions and walks.
