Sophie Marinova’s son Lorenzo got rid of the skin! The investigation against him as the leader of a criminal group involved in migrant trafficking was closed due to lack of evidence. “Bulgaria Today” learned this from the press center of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Burgas.

“There was an investigation against Lorenzo, but no evidence was ever collected to convict him of being a channeler. Only Ivan Stanchev was convicted, who claimed that Lorenzo was the leader of the criminal group. The son of Sofi Marinova was chased away at the end of 2022, when border guards caught Ivan Stanchev with 9 Syrian refugees near Rusokastro. During the questioning of the sewer, Lorenzo’s name also surprisingly appears.

Ivan claims to the investigators that Sofi Marinova’s son took him from a construction site in Sofia, put him on his BMW and drove him to the entrance of the village of Debelt. According to the channeler’s story, Lorenzo drops him off at Debelt, gives him the keys to a Suzuki Vitara SUV, which has a full tank, and a GPS point from which Ivan can pick up the group of 9 illegal migrants from Syria. Lorenzo also gives him directions for the return to Sofia. The refugees were to be taken to the capital, and from there other canalmen would take them to Germany. This is what the captured trafficker claims.

Ivan picked up the illegal refugees, but according to him, Lorenzo forgot to warn him that there was already a new checkpoint near Rusokastro. It was there that Ivan’s luck failed him and he was captured by border guards who snapped the handcuffs on him.

The 21-year-old general construction worker from Sofia announces to the investigators that he will tell everything because he is angry, he was misled and he was spared important details. In the end, it turns out that there is no truth in Ivan’s claims, or at least the investigators fail to prove a connection between him and the singer’s son. No evidence was found that Lorenzo was the mastermind behind the operation, and the charges against him were dropped. On the other hand, the prosecutor’s office accused Ivan.

Meanwhile, a printout was requested to establish if and how many times Lorenzo had spoken to Ivan. This has never been proven. The prosecutor’s office also has data that the arrested piper, Ivan, also passed the route in question another time. He was most likely scouting the area.

Ivan, who was arrested, was ordered to be remanded in custody, but was later released on bail until the case against him was started. He was sentenced to 11 months probation. If Ivan steps wrong again, he will surely dawn behind bars.
