Check out the winners of the Opportunity Transition – Kyustendil Instagram Challenge

The social media challenge for the Kyustendil region, organized by “Brand Media Bulgaria”, part of the European project “Transition of Opportunities”, has ended.

The project aims to publicize the contribution of the European Union’s Cohesion Policy, the Just Transition Fund and the European Recovery Plan to ensure a smooth and fair transition to a climate-neutral economy of the Bulgarian regions, which will be the most affected by the transformation.

Campaign Goals

The Instagram challenge aimed to involve the local community in promoting the transformation realized with the support of the European Union cohesion policy implemented through programs and projects. The participants were invited to share their opinion about the European projects implemented in the region under the EU Cohesion Policy – how they have positively affected their lives; how they could be continued successfully and sustainably; and how they can be improved and developed in other areas.

Between April 8 and 22, 2024 users of the Instagram app had to share a photo or video with a hashtag on their profile #TransitionOfOpportunities, which present successfully implemented projects financed with European funds under the EU cohesion policy on the territory of Kyustendil region.

Final ranking

The final ranking looks like this:

• • He takes the first place christian.k.georgiev. He participated with a photo of the “Hisarlaka” area, renovated with European funds. His post had 52 reactions and won a Fujifilm Instax Mini 12 Green Mint instant camera;

• • It is ranked second boyanavasileva, who also uploaded a photo of the Hisarlukka fortress. Her post received 21 reactions. It gains a solar charging type folding case;

Officially, a third prize in the challenge is not awarded, as other participants are not eligible. They have not followed all the terms of the game. Nevertheless, the Economic.bg team decided to encourage participation by giving 2 special prizes – to zhiv._.ko and boyana. aleksova. They have published photos of an ice cross made on the Valogo dam under the project “Art without a carbon footprint”. The project did not receive European funds, but its message of highly engaged social art fits into the general idea of ​​the challenge and its aim to promote a sustainable transformation to a climate-neutral economy.Thus, both also receive a solar charger type folding case.
