We will defend freedom – the freedom for Bulgarians to decide their own destiny

“Bulgaria may be strong within the European Union. Bulgarian politics may be decided in Bulgaria. We may say no.” This was stated by Viktor Bluskov at a press conference of “Blue Bulgaria”, after the coalition registered yesterday for the elections on June 9.

“We can protect our faith. We can protect our children, return the sacred role of the family and slowly begin to regain our dignity – Bluskov also said and added – We want to present this choice to hundreds of thousands of Bulgarians who are looking for it – the possibility not to compromise either with your values, or with your culture, or with Europe.”

“To this end, we from Blue Bulgaria stand behind clear and uncompromising principles – we will defend a strong Bulgaria in Europe. We will defend a Christian Bulgaria and all its values. We will defend the sacred role of the family and the right to raise our children as we decide. we oppose the liberal decay of values. Above all, we will defend freedom – the freedom for Bulgarians to decide their own destiny and the freedom of speech for people to be able to express an opinion that contradicts the leftist status quo,” said Viktor Bluskov.

Here’s what else he said at the “Blue Bulgaria” press conference:

In recent years we have been misrepresented with the idea that Europe is the left-liberal-green status quo. This is in no way true. At the moment, and this is changing very quickly, this is simply the political status quo – but Europe, the European Union, is a Christian union founded on the basis of freedom and traditional European values. They are Christian, I emphasize, no matter how much one runs away from it, there is no way to avoid it. They are related to equality, freedom of speech and the possibility to have a different opinion, but to be united in the pursuit of mutual progress.

At the same time, we were instilled with the idea that Bulgaria, to be part of this European Union, must be obedient and wait for politics to be served to it from outside. This is not only not Euro-Atlantic, it is completely contrary to European values - there is no place in Europe for a country that is not strong on its own and does not fully participate in the processes. European integration has become a dirty word because it equates to taking away freedom and power from the people, when it should be the other way around. This is why Euroscepticism is growing in Bulgaria every day and there are more and more voices that openly call for leaving the EU – not because the EU itself imposes something on us, but because our politicians prefer to hide and not make the effort to stand strong in front of Europe, as it should. When was the last time you heard a Bulgarian politician say “no” to the European Union, something that should be a daily occurrence in a union of different opinions and positions? In fact, Asen Vassilev said “no” to the derogation to Lukoil and what happened there? It was an absolute success. Paradoxically, this “no” led to income and benefit for Russia, not for Bulgaria, so we are still left with almost no “no” said in the name of the Bulgarian interest.

Bulgaria in the European Union does not in any way mean a weak Bulgaria without its own interest. Today, not only is Bulgaria’s policy not made on our territory, not only is our interest not defended, our priorities and our interest are not even formed at all. It gives the impression that our priorities don’t matter

If they had, do you think Bulgaria would have followed the left-liberal-green line? The Bulgarian still remains a conservative person. Family and faith are at the heart of our nation and are the two things on which it is founded. The faith that has preserved our culture, language and traditions through hundreds of years of slavery and all kinds of regimes. And the family. How can it be argued that the family is not the most important thing for a Bulgarian, as the biggest foreign investor in Bulgaria are our compatriots across the border, who to this day send money back to their children and parents? It is said that we have lost 3 million people, but we have not lost them at all, they have gone abroad to help their families. We do not abandon our parents, we do not abandon our children, despite all the left-liberal movements for us this remains sacred and we protect it at the cost of everything.

This is why Bulgarian parents are now worried about their children. I speak here from personal experience – years ago I returned to Bulgaria to start a family, because here you still have the freedom to raise your children with our values. How many others are like me? We recently boasted that many Bulgarians are already returning from abroad and we have matched those who left – many of these Bulgarians are returning because they want to raise their family here, in our relative freedom. Many young people want the same. They are crushed right now – they lack any choice politically, no one represents them and they don’t even have a choice not to participate because they feel they have to at least make a civilizational choice, European or Eurasian. The idea that the European choice is left-wing in principle has been successfully imposed on them, but if they do not take it, then Bulgaria’s European path ends. On the other side, the idea is imposed that if you don’t vote against the European elections, you vote for war.

No, that’s just not the case. This choice cannot be the only one before the Bulgarians, we see where it has led us, 60% of the people do not want to participate in this game at all. The choice may be European AND right-wing, conservative choice. The young generation will reverse this trend, but only if given a choice.

Until then, our freedom will be taken away little by little, because we will be in a trap of leftist parties who want to put a boot on the neck of the Bulgarian and are ready to use any arguments to do so. Freedom of speech, freedom to raise your children as you wish, freedom to develop professionally, freedom to create your own business, even the freedom to own private property – all this will come under threat until there is no one to actively defend it.

Maybe Bulgaria is strong inside the European Union. Bulgarian politics can be decided in Bulgaria. We can say no. We can defend our faith. We can protect our children, restore the sacred role of the family, and slowly begin to regain our dignity.

We want to present this choice to hundreds of thousands of Bulgarians who are looking for it – the opportunity not to compromise either with your values, with your culture, or with Europe.

For this purpose, we at Blue Bulgaria stand behind clear and uncompromising principles – we will defend a strong Bulgaria in Europe. We will defend a Christian Bulgaria and all its values. We will defend the sacred role of the family and the right to raise our children as we choose. We will oppose the liberal decay of values. Above all, we will defend freedom – the freedom for Bulgarians to decide their own destiny and the freedom of speech for people to be able to express an opinion that contradicts the leftist status quo.
