Inspection of the General Directorate “Enforcement of Punishments” (GDIN) it shows, that boss of the Regional Service “Execution of Punishments”-Razgrad (RSIN) illegally took detainees out of custody. Disciplinary proceedings were instituted against him. This is known from a written response of the Acting Minister of Justice, Maria Pavlova, to a question from the People’s Representative Antoaneta Tsoneva (“We are continuing the change – “Democratic Bulgaria”), published on the website of the parliament, BTA reported.

The text of the answer states that on February 14 in GDIN a signal has been received from a probation inspector to RSIN regarding violations, abuse of powerand mental harassment by boss of the regional office.

By order of February 16 of the chief director of GDIN, a commission was appointed to carry out an on-site inspection in the period 20-22 February. She finds that bosshe unlawfully took detained persons out of custody, did not exercise control over the observance of working hours by employees of the district administration and showed a rude and uncollegial attitude towards certain employees.

On March 6 in GDIN a new report was received from a warden in the detention center in Razgrad regarding mental harassment towards him by the person in question boss. A check is also performed on this signal.

By order of boss of the Regional Service “Execution of Punishments” – Veliko Tarnovo (OSIN) disciplinary proceedings were initiated against bossand with a closing date of April 26. In his reply, the Acting Minister of Justice assures that all necessary actions have been taken to clarify the case.
