Ivan Takov remains the chairman of the Local Coalition “BSP for Bulgaria” group in the Metropolitan Municipal Council. This decision was taken unanimously this morning at a meeting of the Local Coalition group, which was not attended by Diana Tonova and Ivan Videlov.

“The group of the Local Coalition “BSP for Bulgaria” rejects the recommendation of the City Council of the BSP to change the leadership and confirms its trust in its chairman Ivan Takov and the current leadership, the decision reads.
In addition, the group expresses its serious concerns about the interference of the BSP’s close leadership in its decisions and categorically states that they damage the prestige not only of the municipal councilors from the local coalition, but also of the city organization, as well as of the party itself.
“And the attempts of the BSP’s close leadership to make behind-the-scenes deals with representatives of other political groups behind the backs of the municipal councilors from the local coalition “BSP for Bulgaria” are absolutely unacceptable,” the position says.
Earlier, the BSP – Sofia issued a press release that the new City Council of the Socialists has decided to replace Diana Tonova with Ivan Takov as the chairman of the group of municipal councilors.
According to the Statute of the BSP, the group in the SOS itself chooses from among the members who will be its chairman.
