How is Lazarov Day celebrated in the village of Shishkovtsi – the birthplace of the artist Vladimir Dimitrov-Maistora?

You can find out if you respond to the invitation from the mayor Iliana Petrova and visit the village 10 kilometers from Kyustendil this Saturday, April 27.

“We stopped at this holiday because of the forgotten traditions – Iliyana Petrova explained to BNR-Radio Sofia. – Lazarov Day is a girl’s holiday. Children with songs and wreaths of flowers will go around the streets. Residents will prepare breads, pies and sweets. We use the occasion and for a charity bazaar, the funds from which will be used for the improvement of the village and the restoration of the station.”

Visitors will also be able to see the 120-year-old church, built with donations from residents.

The Master’s Museum will also be open.

The beginning of the holiday is at 12:30 in the center of the village of Shishkovtsi.
