Only he came to me as the head of the energy commission to be interested in their problems, Delyan Dobrev defended him

And the mayor of Stara Zagora, Zhivko Todorov, arrived at the parliament together with the protesting energy workers. Some of them were admitted to the parliament and stood in the guest seats in the plenary hall. Behind them discreetly stood Todorov, who, however, was noticed by the deputies and even became part of the debates about the miners.

It was first mentioned by Stanislav Bogdanski from “Ima talik narod”. “I see that the mayor of Stara Zagora, perhaps leading you in the pilot car in front of the buses with which they led you to the bright future of the miner and the energy industry, may have misled you and is using you right now,” Bogdanski said.

Immediately after him, Todorov’s fellow party member and MP from Stara Zagora, Manoil Manev, came to the podium to defend him: “A man came here to say what mayor and which mayor was among the people, but this man cannot find the mines with GPS. You can’t find where “Mini Maritsa Iztok” is located, and it’s normal for the mayor of Stara Zagora to be there, because these people live in Stara Zagora Municipality and in three other districts. And it’s quite normal the mayor to take care of them”.

Support also came from Delyan Dobrev from GERB, who came up with a procedure for Rositsa Kirova: “You allow attacks to be made from here on the mayor of Stara Zagora, Zhivko Todorov, the mayor of Stara Zagora, who cannot take a stand in this hall in order to defended himself. I have been elected chairman of the energy committee for the fourth term. It has been 7-8 years, and during all these years Zhivko Todorov is perhaps the only person who has come to me continuously to be interested in the problems of these people we see here today”.
