“Blue Bulgaria”, which is a kind of continuation of the right-wing union for the local vote “Blue Sofia”, registered for the elections for MEPs and parliament on June 9.
The new coalition includes known political players – KOD, NDSV, DBG, BZNS, “Conservative Bulgaria”, “Bulgarian New Democracy”, “Radical Democratic Party”, “Democratic Action Movement – D 3” and others.
Highlights of the pre-election strategy of “Blue Bulgaria” include a strong right-wing economic policy, opposition to neoliberal personal decay and human freedom. The coalition aims to fight “for our European identity and pursue clear goals for the protection of the country’s national security”.
The chairman of the NDSV, Stanimir Ilchev, announced that “Blue Bulgaria” is throwing down the gauntlet to everyone who is currently in the parliament, but also to those who strive to get there. For him, it is important to stop the bearers of the harmful models from reproducing themselves in the National Assembly.
“Our idea is to merge and walk along a wide and long path. To give way to the young, the educated and the experienced.” Ilchev also said.
According to Petar Moskov from KOD, “Blue Bulgaria” is a right-wing conservative political union, an alternative to liberal assemblies and left-wing Eurasian political projects. He added that the coalition is not a mechanical collection of parties, but is an aspiration for unification around right-wing economic decisions, conservative values, European future and Bulgaria’s security.
Moscow has announced that among the goals of the coalition is the completion of Schengen and Eurozone integration.
Moscow left open the question of whether “Blue Bulgaria” would work in the parliament with GERB and “We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria”, but defined as impossible future interaction with DPS, BSP and “Vazrazhdane”. According to him, a document will be prepared with clearly outlined goals and measures regarding the economy, the effectiveness of the security, healthcare and education systems and the guarantee of Bulgaria’s European future and security.
