The tenth hidden leak detection competition, organized by the Bulgarian Water Association, takes place in Plovdiv

The tenth anniversary professional competition on detecting hidden leaks, organized by the Bulgarian Water Association (BAV), in partnership with the Union of Waterworks Operators in Bulgaria, is being held in Plovdiv. 12 teams from water and sanitation companies throughout the country are participating in the competition, said the chairman of BAV, Eng. Ivan Ivanov, at the opening.
The track on which the race is held is pre-surveyed and determined, and its location is announced to each team immediately before participation. The final evaluation of the work depends on the localization of the first accident, the number of problem points found and the time to survey the terrain, the maximum number of points that a team can receive is 100. A team consists of a minimum of two people who receive a map of the area .
According to the regulation, the annual competition is organized on the territory of the company – winner of the professional competition for the previous year. The prize in Razgrad in 2023 went to “Water Supply and Sewerage” EOOD – Plovdiv. This year they are hosting the non-eligible event.
The opening of the event was attended by the regional governor of Plovdiv, Eng. Iliya Zyumbilev, who pointed out that the work of plumbing specialists is extremely important and wished success to the teams. Eng. Anton Galabov, manager of “Waterworks – Plovdiv” EOOD, also greeted the teams.
The top three teams will be awarded tonight with a cup, medals and cash prize.
