Cultural institutes were renovated under the project “The heritage of Sliven – captivating and multifaceted”

The activities of the project “The heritage of Sliven – captivating and multifaceted”, provided by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2014-2021, have ended. This was announced at the closing press conference today by the head of the project, Dora Chaneva.
Spaces in the “Dimitar Dobrovich” Art Gallery, the “Dr. Simeon Tabakov” Regional History Museum and the “Sliven” Hall have been revitalized, renovated and equipped, which will be used in the future to organize and hold exhibitions, book presentations and various other chamber events. In the “Sliven” hall, the adjacent parts have been renovated and multimedia and a screen have been installed. The lobbies are equipped as spaces for temporary exhibitions, meetings with authors, book launches and other cultural events. In the “Dimitar Dobrovich” Art Gallery, the exhibition spaces have been refreshed and renewed, the inventory and lighting for exhibiting the paintings have been replaced. In the Regional History Museum, repairs were carried out, a platform for disabled people was installed. On the first floor, they can watch videos about all the exhibits in the five sites of the museum.
Experts from the museum, the gallery and the Municipality of Sliven participated in trainings on topics of cultural entrepreneurship, development and attraction of new audiences, socialization of cultural heritage, interpretation of cultural values, inclusion of new technologies in the work of cultural institutions.
Within the framework of the project, an analysis was carried out and an entrepreneurial plan was prepared, which aims to attract new audiences of various ages.
Exhibitions, meetings-discussions about the life and lifestyle of different ethnic groups, book presentations, a round table on the topic: “The heritage of Sliven – captivating and multifaceted” were realized. Catalogs, guidebooks, museum souvenirs and replicas were produced.
The aim of the project is to preserve and popularize the Sliven cultural heritage, present the cultural identity of the local ethnic groups and increase tolerance, understanding and acceptance of different cultural values. It is worth BGN 574,569 and lasts 22 months.
