Lara Ibryam from “Slaveykov” wins 1st place at the International Competition in Paris

Lara Ibryam from SU “P.R. Slaveykov” – Kardzhali, ranked among the first in the “Magic Feather” International Literary Competition – Paris, 2024. She won 1st place in the “Prose” section in the first age group (6-10 years .) with his fairy tale “The Magical World of Fairies”. Her work was awarded in fierce competition with 630 works (poetry and prose) by participants from 15 countries. The jury of the prestigious children’s international literary contest was the distinguished Bulgarian writers: Katya Kremzer, Lili Spasova, Radoslav Gizgindzhiev and Zdravka Evtimova, who was the chairman. The competition was initiated by the Bulgarian Ivan Vazov School in Paris, France, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the school.

Lara Ibryam is a 4th grade student with class teacher Semra Ahmed. She also studied the intricacies of creative writing with Bozhidara Angelova, author of children’s books and poetry. Lara is also the winner of other literary awards from national and international competitions. In 2023, she won a prize in an international competition in Israel.

“I am very impressed and express admiration for what all these children from Bulgaria and abroad have shown with their works, but which is also a high assessment of the work and methods of their teachers and professors of Bulgarian language and literature”, says Katja Kremzer, poet and jury member. “All awarded children can be proud of themselves and their works, because only the best of the best found a place in the ranking,” the organizers also commented on Facebook.

The awarding of the prize winners will take place in Paris on May 19 during the solemn concert for the 10th birthday of BNU “Ivan Vazov”.
