Writers Stefan Mitev, Tsveta Brestnička and Plamen Petkov visited “Zdravets” Kindergarten and “Elin Pelin” Elementary School, Parvomaitsi village, during the week dedicated to children’s books. The authors were guests at the invitation of the “Ivan Vazov-1893” Primary School, Parvomaytsi village as part of the cultural calendar filled with literary events.

Stefan Mitev – a member of the Union of Bulgarian Writers – presented his children’s books: “Music on the River” and “Sparrows and Other Walruses”. The meeting at Elin Pelin Primary School opened with questions addressed to the children about their favorite stories and hobbies. The writer read several works and interpreted the important lessons hidden between the lines. The floor was also given to the students, who listened with interest and read works from the two books. Stefan Mitev played melodies from popular children’s musical works on the piano, challenging the students. They had to guess the song and sing it. The meeting ended with questions to the author, photos and autographs.

Kindergarten “Zdravets” warmly welcomed the writer Tsveta Brestnichka, who told the story of the brave “Rache youth” and presented “rhymes, pacifiers and toys” from the book “Dance, dance, hands! Clap-clap, feet!”. The little ones listened attentively, counted on their fingers and out loud, asked questions and answered those addressed to them. At the end of the meeting, the children took pictures with the writer, and she filled the library in the kindergarten with two of her books. A little later, Tsveta Brestnička also met the students from Elin Pelin Primary School. He brought to their attention the book “Nebivalitsi with the letters from A to Z”, awarded with the “Perto” award in the “Children’s literature” category for contribution to the literary context. The students had fun reading “nonsense”, took part in the special game prepared by the author, asked questions and received a promise to meet again.

In the week dedicated to literary works for children, Plamen Petkov, with the pseudonym Plamak Iskren, also presented his books. It captured the interest of the little ones with stories of animals helping each other, forming friendships, playing and learning important life lessons. The author was able to frame a discussion with the children about help, friendship and caring. The meeting ended with photos and autographs. Plamen Petkov was also a guest of the students, to whom he told the story of Petyo, Galya and Iskren. The girls and boys listened carefully, answered with reason, and thought aloud about topics such as friendship, children’s tricks, and kindness. The meeting ended with autographs and photos.

Stefan Mitev has been a member of the Union of Bulgarian Writers since 2002, as well as a member of the International Creative Association “Scene of Spirituality”. Tsveta Brestnička is an author who was awarded the “Konstantin Konstantinov” award in the “Author” category for the book “Stories with Feet”.
