Today ends the last parliamentary session of the European Parliament (EP) before the elections for the renewal of its composition in June.
At the last plenary session in Strasbourg, the Spanish MEP of Bulgarian origin Eva-Maria Kostova commented to journalists how the political situation in Bulgaria looks from the outside and how it will affect our membership in Schengen and the Eurozone.
“All hope of the European partners for political stability in Bulgaria has evaporated, we are becoming a partner that cannot be relied on. This could hinder us for Schengen,” she said.
She thinks that Bulgaria will soon enter Schengen, but that also depends on the elections in Austria.
Kostova believes that it still depends on us – and that is to reduce inflation in the country.
Eva-Maria Kostova will have clarity at the beginning of May whether she will be nominated again for participation in the European Parliament elections.
In the previous mandate, she was the vice-chairman of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs.
