In all probability, Varna will once again lose the opportunity to receive funding under the instruments of the European Union for projects to build new marinas and fishing ports. This reasonable conclusion can be made after the second meeting of the interdepartmental working group on the technical condition of the hydrotechnical facilities, which was held today in the Regional Administration.

At the meeting, it became clear that the institutions still do not have absolutely any project proposals for financing with European funds, which could partially solve the problems of the lack of legal moorings for the fishing community in the maritime capital.

The city could apply for several projects related to the expansion of the Varna Fishing Port, which is located in the Asparuhovo district, and the Anton Ivanov marina. At the meeting, it became clear that there is still no readiness to apply for the two separate projects, and new ones are not considered at all.

It is expected that in a few months, admission will be announced under the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Program for the expansion of existing fishing ports and the construction of marinas, with up to BGN 14 million in funding for project proposals.
