Additional funds from the Cultural Calendar of the Municipality of Pleven will be redirected to the organization of Katia Popova Laureate Days”. The calendar is supplemented with a new event – the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the creation of the Municipal Wind Orchestra. Both amendments were proposed and accepted today by the City Council.
With Decision No. 079 of 15.02.2024 of the Municipal Council – Pleven, the Collective Budget of the Municipality of Pleven for 2024 was adopted, an integral part of which is the Cultural Calendar of the Municipality /Appendix No. 13/. In this regard, the municipal administration received two proposals for changes to the originally planned and accepted cultural events:
- By letter dated 19.03.2024, Ljubomir Djakovski – director of the Pleven Philharmonic, informed that due to organizational reasons, the Philharmonic cannot realize the opera “Nabucco”, set out in section II, item 4 of the Cultural Calendar of the Municipality;
- By letter dated 19.03.2024, Plamen Markov – conductor of the Municipal Wind Orchestra, informs about the replacement of the planned concert with guest Orlin Goranov in section II, item 5 of the Cultural Calendar of the Municipality of Pleven celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Municipal Wind Orchestra orchestra.
Based on the received requests, the Municipal Council – Pleven voted and adopted changes to the Cultural Calendar of the Municipality as follows:
- In Section II, item 4, the event “Stage under the stars” – opera performance “Nabucco” is deleted and the planned funds in the amount of up to BGN 9,000 are redirected to the XXXI international festival “Laureate days of Katya Popova” – required financial resources up to BGN 59,000.
- In Section II, item 5: Concert with guest soloist Orlin Goranov, is changed to: Celebration of the 60th anniversary of the creation of the Municipal Wind Orchestra – Pleven.
The rest of the decision remains the same.
