The coalition group “Continuing the change – Democratic Bulgaria” (PP-DB) in the Municipal Council (ObS) in Pleven has disbanded, BTA reported.
At the beginning of today’s meeting, the chairman, Prof. Ivan Malkodanski, announced that a request was submitted by Dr. Pavlin Stefanov to leave the PP-DB group.
“After this request, he is now an independent municipal councilor. Due to the reduction of the number of municipal councilors in the group from three to two, and according to our Regulations, a group in the Municipal Council can be composed of a minimum of three municipal councilors, that is Natalia Tsaneva and Lyudmil Sofroniev also become independent municipal councilors,” explained Prof. Malkodanski.
Nataliya Tsaneva is also the vice-chairman of the ObS-Pleven, which led to a question in the hall as to whether she would retain her post in this situation. Assoc. Malkodanski explained that a deputy chairman is appointed by a group of municipal councilors and there is no reason to remove him from this post due to the disintegration of the group, unless there is an express proposal.
After this change, there are eight groups in the Municipal Council of Pleven, the largest being that of GERB with eight municipal councilors.
