A spider from the municipal enterprise “Parking and Repatriation” in Plovdiv came to the rescue and pulled out a Mercedes that crashed yesterday in a parking lot in the Sudiyski district.

The photo with the car stuck in a gaping trap circulated on social networks, and the car’s owner, Plamen Bashev, pleaded for help. He did not suspect at all that his car would end up in a suddenly opened pit, as he usually parked it in this place behind the block at the corner of “Stoyan Mihailovski” and “Khan Asparuh” streets.

Yesterday, Bashev left his Mercedes in the parking lot and went home without a black thought that the ground would open up and swallow almost the entire rear of the car.

“Anyone who recognizes it, should take it out before it all collapses,” Plovdiv residents wrote in one of the groups and thus informed about the accident.

“I can think of three cars that have sunk on boulevards in Plovdiv, and have already started to sink in the parking lots. What is going on,” Georgi Sirakov wonders. Many felt sorry for the owner for the headaches that opened up for him.

“If anyone can help, the car is mine,” the owner himself called. Angry residents of Plovdiv snapped: “The municipality should take it out and cover the damage!”.

That’s how it goes. The deputy mayor of the “Central” region Oktay Chalashkan called the head of “Parking and repatriation” Nushan Derkalestaniyan to send a spider to the scene of the accident.

“We provided assistance and the car was lifted,” Derkalestaniyan told “24 Chasa”. According to him, the operation was not easy, but the employees managed it. “We helped free of charge. Let the people of Plovdiv see that we are not just a repressive body,” he said.

According to the mayor of the “Central” region, Georgi Stamenov, there was a subsidence of the earth’s masses and that is where the collapse occurred. “An underground cavity was formed, which has already been compacted and leveled. There are sewer pipes, but they are dry. It is also possible that the rains are the cause. If there is another collapse, it will be excavated to see,” said Stamenov.
