I am outraged by the construction of the Lokomotiv Stadium

I would first like to express my indignation at the construction of Lokomotiv Stadium, and then ask some questions to the administration. This was stated by the municipal councilor from “Bravo, Plovdiv” Erol Sadakov during today’s session, reported a reporter of Plovdiv24.bg.

Erol Sadakov is the son of the great legend of Lokomotiv Plovdiv and Bulgarian football Ayan Sadakov.

“It can be seen that the stadium is being built extremely slowly, but at the expense of that – poor quality. There are unacceptable things in the Besika Stand and the South Stand that are visible to the naked eye – rust on fences, railings and other metal elements. Puffy and cracked walls, leaks and moisture,” said Erol Sadakov and specified that his statement was “in connection with publications in the media regarding the quality of the construction of the Lokomotiv stadium.”

“My father is one of the people who gave his whole life to Lokomotiv. My first steps were taken at the Lokomotiv stadium, I grew up there, most likely I will grow old there as well. It is unacceptable for builders to mock the memory of hundreds of Plovdiv residents who gave their lives to their favorite club, as well as the future of Plovdiv – the children who enjoy the success of Lokomotiv,” added the municipal councilor.

He then asked the following questions:

Who monitors construction quality? Has the Municipality of Plovdiv inspected the construction activities carried out so far? What does the Municipality of Plovdiv intend to do in view of the substandard construction? Are there any more indexations requested by the contractor? Will there be sanctions against the builders? When and how does the Municipality of Plovdiv plan to release the public order for the central stand and the vertical layout for the “Lokomotiv” stadium?

Plovdiv24.bg contacted the former mayor of the “Yuzhen” region, Kostadin Yazov, as he is responsible on behalf of the Municipality for the construction of the “Lokomotiv” stadium.

“First of all, I want to say that a distinction must be made between the construction process and the maintenance process of a facility. If there is fallen paint or rust somewhere, it is more a consequence of operation. But anyway, the stadium has a warranty period and the builder’s commitment is to remove all defects,” Kostadin Yazov told our media.

He was adamant that when he receives an order from the mayor of the city, he will answer in detail the questions asked in the Municipal Council. Yazov recalled that the two new tribunes (Besika and Yujna) were put into operation after the approval of commissions, in which 14 to 17 different specialists are members, and they did not find any significant irregularities in the construction.
