The municipal councilors in Pazardzhik did not give consent to change the purpose of land properties – agricultural lands and forests – private municipal, public municipal, private state property, located in the land of the village of Patalenitsa, for quarries for the extraction of underground resources, landfills or polluting productions through PUP – PRZ /detailed development plan – plan for regulation and development/.

They obliged the mayor of the Pazardjik Municipality to submit a proposal to the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria through the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry for the transfer of ownership of the Pazardjik Municipality on land property no.
55556.60.3 in the village of Patalenitsa, the town of Kirovitsa and Demira, at the moment state private property – forest territory, with the aim of creating an archaeological reserve, with the name “Sanctuary of Asclepius”.

The councilors also signed a declaration in which they insist on preserving the cultural-historical heritage in these localities and demand urgent measures from the state to protect archaeological values ​​and immediately stop the procedure for acquiring a concession for the extraction of aggregates.

The two decisions from today’s session concerning the problem were inspired by the convening of a general meeting of the residents of Patalenica, who expressed their disagreement with tolerating companies for the extraction of aggregates in an area that is extremely important as an artifact not only for the municipality and the district, but also for the country.
