From May 1, taxi services in Varna will be more expensive at the request of the industry and with the approval of the city’s Municipal Council.
The proposal was adopted with 38 for, 1 against and 1 abstention.
The minimum day rate becomes BGN 1.30, and the night rate – BGN 1.50. Currently, the prices are BGN 1.05 and BGN 1.15, respectively.
The maximum rates remain unchanged. The daytime toll is BGN 2, and the night toll is BGN 3 per kilometer.
The update is justified by the increase in the minimum wage – by 31% compared to 2022, as well as by the increase in the price of spare parts and higher labor prices in auto repair shops.
Among the items on the agenda was the proposal that a group in the local parliament could be formed by three councilors, instead of four as it is now. However, it was not accepted by the majority, reported novavarna.net.
