The mayor of Yambol Valentin Revanski today has already complained about the delay the realization of the project for the construction of the Bulgarian military base in Kabile. Revanski held a meeting in the National Assembly with the chairmen of the DPS and GERB, Delyan Peevski and Boyko Borisov, who in turn summoned the ministers Lyudmila Petkova and Atanas Zapryanov.
Mayor Revanski has already emphasized that the project is of extreme importance for our national security and the Euro-Atlantic orientation of the country, but although the project was brought out as a priority for the government of Nikolay Denkov, to date, not a single lev has been given for its implementation.
We remind you that when the project for the construction of a new military base in the “Kabile” area was drawn up by the previous government on the part of the BSP and “Vazrazhdane”, a wave of indignation arose, including the demand for the resignation of Minister Todor Tagarev in the middle of the summer, as the mayor of Yambol , who won a second term this fall, said he intended to hold a local referendum on the issue. Apparently he has already given up on this idea.
The Minister of Finance, Ludmila Petkova, has committed to providing the funds for the construction of the base.
Mayor Revanski also complained that the additional financing of the equipment for the hospital in Yambol, promised by the “Denkov” government, has also not been fulfilled. Other important topics for Yambol were discussed at the meeting, including the accelerated construction of a section of the city’s ring road by the API, transfer of 2 liberated military properties in the city to the municipality and state support for the construction of a botanical garden in the city.
The construction of the NATO camp near Yambol has begun
There is already an American presence in the Kabyle military region
